Se'Majah's Journey
2026 Graduate

Se’majah is preparing to graduate from Pike County High School this May—an exciting achievement that represents not just academic success, but a journey of perseverance, growth, and new beginnings.
While she may not claim a single favorite subject, Se’majah has found joy in math, appreciating the challenge and satisfaction that comes from solving problems. Throughout her high school experience, she has stayed actively involved in a variety of activities, including band, TRIO (a college readiness program), and work-based learning.
Through her work-based learning program, Se’majah serves as a paraprofessional with a third-grade classroom, helping students with math skills like addition, subtraction, and multiplication. With stellar grades and a heart for helping others, she is already making a meaningful impact.
After graduation, Se’majah plans to attend college and pursue a degree in healthcare science, building on her current high school pathway. She hopes to one day work in a field where she can care for others—possibly as a teacher or even a veterinarian, combining her love for people and animals.
Outside of school, Se’majah enjoys a variety of creative hobbies including drawing, coloring, cooking, baking, and doing hair. She even co-owns a small baking business with her best friend, where they make cookies together.
Se’majah has been with GBCH&FM for the past couple of years, and she describes her time there as life-changing. “When we first came here, it felt like a restart—a fresh start to redo life,” Semajah shared. “It’s been a blessing for me and my family.”
Coming from a difficult season, Se’majah’s family found hope and stability through GBCH&FM. She credits her time here with helping her grow in patience, responsibility, and faith. “I’ve learned to trust God more, to be patient, and to take life one step at a time,” she said. “My relationship with God has grown a lot—I pray more and feel more connected to Him.”
Se’majah also expressed deep appreciation for the staff who have supported her along the way, sharing how their care and encouragement helped her feel welcomed and valued.
Her journey is also deeply meaningful to her family. As the oldest of five children, Se’majah is breaking generational cycles and creating a new path forward. With graduation ahead, Se’majah is stepping into the future with confidence and purpose. Her story is one of resilience, hope, and transformation—a testament to what can happen when someone is given the opportunity to start again.
Pray with us for Se’majah as she begins this next chapter—that God will guide her way, provide for her needs, and continue to grow her faith as she pursues her dreams.
Because of your support, lives are forever changed.
Thank you for giving children and families hope and a home.
