About Us

Our Mission

Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries is a Christian caring ministry of services designed to promote the spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being of children, youth, and families.

We believe it's a privilege to serve.

We love that we get to be where God has called us and to work in the capacities He's placed us.

While the children and families in our care are left with impressions that are often difficult and deep-rooted, it's a joyfully rewarding experience to be with them during this season of their lives.

Our Core Values

Faith
We will provide a Christian environment to promote an understanding of spiritual values and growth in one’s faith with respect and dignity.
Servant Leadership
We will encourage all staff members to demonstrate servant leadership, recognizing the value and worth of every child and family and always striving to instill a sense of respect and value for self, others, and community. A servant leader is focused on others including clients, employees, and community and they are motivated to make life better for others.
Excellence
We will exemplify a commitment to excellence through the surpassing of the standards of which professional childcare is measured. GBCH&FM will promote the personal and professional development of its staff and volunteers to improve and broaden their competencies.
Integrity and Accountability
We will demonstrate a commitment to integrity and non-violence by protecting individuals from abuse, maltreatment, economic exploitation, malnutrition, and unsafe environments. GBCH&FM will model integrity and accountability that reflects an alignment between what we say, what we do, and how we do it.
Communication
We will respect and value each client’s race, culture, language, and religion striving to instill a sense of community for mutual growth and change. GBCH&FM will make every effort to include clients and all involved parties in service and treatment planning. GBCH&FM will openly communicate with staff relative to their employment and the agency as a whole.
Sense of Hope
We will promote an organizational environment that advocates for the protection of staff, families, and children; provides education of life skills, development of self, and empowerment for sustainability and hope.
Stewardship
We will practice responsible stewardship by serving children and families for whom its services are appropriate and through the wise use of resources. GBCH&FM will represent its services, fiscal affairs, and intentions honestly and openly.

Sanctuary Model of Care®

HOW WE CARE FOR OUR CLIENTS

The Sanctuary Model of Care® is a nationally recognized framework for providing care with a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive perspective. Acknowledging that adversity is universal to all of us, and these experiences often shape how people behave, we also understand that individuals are resilient and healing is possible.

Appreciating the effects of these past experiences, we change the question of “What’s wrong with you?” to a focus on “What’s happened to you?” Based on the knowledge that overcoming trauma, stress, and adversity requires creating an environment that promotes safety and healing, Sanctuary® utilizes interactive tools to change the way we go about working together, thinking together, acting together, and living together.
